The VVEM promotes and defends the interests of its members. It aims to capture and increase professional knowledge and supports and encourages its members therein. The VVEM organizes information transfer for its members in a professional way. Quality, safety and professionalism are displayed as characteristics. And enters in partnership with other industry associations. As a serious discussion partner for the government it is working on legislation within the event industry. Through professional groups certain landmarks such as ARBO and Public Safety are developed in order to achieve industry-wide solutions. 

Director Gerard van Duijkeren from The Security Company is a board member of the VVEM. At the end of 2000 the VVEM was founded as an industry organization for professionals in the events industry and represents some 100 companies from various parts of the events industry, including The Security Company, organizers, location providers and suppliers have joined forces to lift the industry to a higher level. In recent years the VVEM has worked itself up as the trade association for the (public) event sector.
